Welcome to Mr. Peterson's Blog! Here we can continue discussions from class and comment on each other's opinions. I look forward to this new and exciting adventure in learning!
I think we could share about what we are reading and give a response on our book. We could also talk about things we are writing and give tips to each other.
I think we can share recommendations on books we've read and I also think that we can share some stories that we have written to give people ideas on how we can all improve on our reading and writing skills.
I agree with carington that maybe sharing recommendations of our favorite books would be a good idea. To add on to that idea i think at the the end of our recommendations we could make a top 20 favorite 6th grader books!
We can have a page to put all are class work and a spot so Everyone can help each other out. I also really like the idea of a book recommendation page.
I thik we could use this blog for RLA by, maybe if you read a book and it was really good, you could share it with the rest of the class. You could also share some writing ideas that other people can use. =)
I think we should have also have a book recomendation page, but for writing I think we should have a place where we should be able to post our writing pieces that we are working on. Then, kind of like how we have writing partners in class we should comment on the pieces of writing and give advice to help make it better.
I think we can use it sometimes to get in touch when we need to do homework together. Like a lot of others say, I really like the book recomendation page because I know I am always looking for a fresh new book to read!
I think we can use it to talk about homework assignments because then we can work on group assignments at home. We can also share book recommendations on this blog so people can have ideas for what to read for their 20 pages a day assignment.
I think we can post all of our past class work on the blog for every one to see. I think we should also have a page for people to read the books we have read with the class. The people can read the books by reading eBook. I also think that we should list down all of the writing and reading traits that we've learned so far this year. I think we should put avatars of ourselves and put our first names beside them, kind of like a class photo except we're using avatars. Why we should use avatars? Because if we show our real faces, some stranger on the Internet can track us down easily with our photo.
Like Sophie K. and Sabrina said, I think that we can recommend different books, and give writing tips to eachother. In order to do that I think that we should share our writings on our blogs, to have other people read and look over them. I think that it would also be useful for homework, so we can make sure we didn't leave anything out. We could also share things like our scrips about our mythical creatures.
This pretty much goes with the whole enter a classroom with a door thing...So, anyways, all my ideas have already been said. Book recommendations, tips, sharing, etc. There's no point in me repeating what others have already said. I especially like book recommendations because, like Mika, I always need another book!
I agree with Sabrina and Sophie K. We can use the blog to recommend books to other people, and if a person wants to share their writing with other people for feedback and opinions they could post it onto this blog.
I agree with Sophie K., Kate and Sabrina, I think that we can write our book recommendations and I think we can write a book response and give some tips to people.
I think that we could post book reviews, so we can get ideas of books we want to read and not have to wonder the library looking for a good book for hours. And also posting our homework on the blog. It would save paper, which would make the school save money on ink and paper and also to help conserve the environment.
I Think it would be a great way to practice haveing discussions on certain topics. We can practice having a good argument and seeing other peoples points of view.
Great ideas everyone!! And great idea, Mr. Peterson, for getting ideas from students about what this is all for anyway. And pinball is fun too....I was distracted from my work for a few minutes...don't tell Mr. Pratt. :)
I'm looking forward to reading all your comments! Let the blogging begin!
