I am at the part when James has to become part of the commune/ Survivors. That's where i am right now. The book I am reading right now is called Mandy. Mandy is a girl who lives in an orphanage, but wants to have freedom. Mandy was out exploring one day and decided to go over the wall that was just behind the orphanage. While Mandy was exploring, she found a little cottage where no one lived. Mandy decided to call the cottage her own and started making money to decorate it. Although Mandy couldn't be there all day, she went at night and during the day. She raised money by doing jobs for people. She would garden and things like that. When the cottage was finally done, Mandy spent a lot of time in it. One day, while she was in the cottage just hanging up some last decorations, a thunder storm came, so there was no way she was leaving. Mandy eventually falls asleep when a man finds her very sick. Mandy stayed at the boys' house until she got better. It was not long til she was back at the orphanage and was adopted by the same family who took care of her. I think other people should read this book too!=)
The book I am reading is called Holes. Holes is about a kid called Stanley and he goes to Juvenal for stealing shoes. So Stanley has to dig holes every day and if he finds something interesting then he has to report it and then he might be able to keep whatever it is. It takes place in a desert. In the juvenal a guard told Stanly that if he saw any fences, he replied "no". "The reason is because we are in a desert and we are the only source of water until the next 100 miles.
The book that I'm reading is called Small Steps. Small Steps is the sequence to Holes. It's about a kid name Theodore, also known as Armpit, that is taking small steps with his disabled neighbor Ginny to turn his life around after he got released from Camp Green Lake. He's on the right track, until his buddy from Camp Green Lake named X-Ray arrives. X-Ray throws Theodore off of the right track with a get-rich-quick scheme that includes a star named Kaira DeLeon. After this scheme, Theodore will never be the same again. I really recommend this book for people who enjoy books that have a half sad and half happy ending.
The book I'm reading right now is called The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss and a boy named Peeta. They are sent as tributes to the capitol to compete in the hunger games. This story takes place somewhere in the future. If you want to find out how it ends, read The Hunger Games!
I agree with your point of view. I would like to add that the entire world except the capitol and the 12 districts has been destroyed by war. Also, 2 tributes are sent from each district to compete in the hunger games. In the Hunger games the people are forced to kill until only one child is left standing. I wanted to keep reading this book because of the suspense of who will survive and who will perish. Also, after you will want to read the next 2 books.
I agree with Alice because The Hunger Games is a really good book and it's intresting. My favorite part is when Katniss and Peeta are in the HUNGER GAMES! But I also agree with Alexander, because you do have to add the part about the Capitol and how there are 12 districts that had a rebellion with the Capitol and why they do the Hunger Games. After you read that book, you have to read the other two books, they're really good!!!
I am reading a autobiography called "Seal Team Six, Memories Of An Elite Seal Sniper" By Howard E. Wadsin. There he i s taught to snipe better, observe better, and stalk better. After graduation he was spent to Mogadishu with sniping buddies Casanova,Sourpuss and Little Big Man to capture warlord Mohamed Aidid and his lieutenants. This Mission was given June 5, 1993. There he realizes the importance of life. Well that is all I have read. Chow

Currently I am reading Mocking-jay. It is the third and last book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. It is based around mainly a girl named Katniss` life. In this book, They are planning a rebellion against the enemy and there are many "ups" and "downs during the course of the battle and Katniss is at times living in her nightmares though sometimes she is having a very happy moment. I would recomend this some sixth graders considering some people enjoy this story and some people think it is too violant. Just remember to start with book 1 or you will not get the story!
The book I'm reading right now is "It's Not Easy Being Mean" from "The Clique" series. This is book 7 out of a 14 book series. Basically The Pretty Committee has just arrived back at OCD after a field-trip incident. Massie (alpha and main character) is determined to find the key to the legendary secret room at OCD. Doing so would prove her to be the true alpha. But when LBR Layne seems to be getting closer to finding it, what will Massie do? I would totally recommend this book to girls in 6-8th grade. But I would read books 1-6 first. You can find this series in the MS Library. -Amira

The book I just finished is Mad Dogs by Robert Muchmore. It is the Th in the 12 book 1ST series Cherub. Mad dogs main characters' were James and Lauren Adams. James was elected in by the ethics committee to help tie up a mission where there was a gang war going on based on the two rival gangs that were created upon the split up of KMG (Keith Moore's gang.)Gabrielle O'Brien (cherub agent) was on life support after being severely stabbed out on the mission. James was going in on the other gang using old friendships from his mission in book 2. He brought along with him Bruce Norris a karate king and they moved into a children's home called the Zoo. He then joined in on the Mad Dogs gang with Junior Moore and got to the heart of the gang. He later finds out where a shipment of drugs is going to come in from South America. When the cops are are all waiting outside there with major dee's gang inside they don't know that the Mad dogs are at the airport raiding a plane with over 2,000,000 usd in it going to Iraq to pay the troops. In the end Sasha Thompson and some of the other head officials get arrested while Major Dee didn't because there was no evidence of what he did. While all of that was happening Lauren Adams was trying to undercover a group behind a lot of human trafficking into Great Britten. If you want to find out more go read the book! I t is a pretty good book. Right now I am reading When you reach me and waiting for book 10 to come into the library. Hope this is useful. - Bradford
I agree with Bradford. When i was reading the thing that kept me reading was the cliffhangers about Gabrielle and seeing how they drug dealing would end and if they would succeed. Some moments that would make me gasp was when the runt stabbed Gabrielle and when James and Bruce had to go with Sasha and steal drugs and money. I am planning on reading Sleepwalker next! Cherub is awesome! :)

I am currently reading Eragon by Christopher Paulini. This book is a fantasy story based in medeival times about a fifteen year old boy who finds a dragon egg in the forest. He then has great adventures with this dragon and goes many places and fights many battles. This is a fast pased adventure fantacy book and is extremely fun to read. After Harry gets to Hogwarts, a school of magic, he then unravels a conspiracy of evil and you-know-who(Voldemort). I would recommend this book to everyone, even if your not the reading type.
The book I just finished was The Time Paradox, number six in the Artemis Fowl series. To know what happened before the book, read Joe's comment. In this book, Artemis' mother is dying from a disease. The only cure is in an animal he made extinct when he was ten. So Artemis and Holly, an elf, travel back in time to save the animal. However, the past is not happening as it did before, and Opal tricks them with a time paradox. I would recommend people read this book, but they should probably read the other books first. I especially liked number three, the Eternity Code. The Series: -Artemis Fowl -The Artic Incident -The Eternity Code -The Opal Deception -The Lost Colony -The Time Paradox -The Atlantis Complex (I need to read it!)
I am reading Class A right now I would recommend this not only because it was good and exiting but I also I think it has a educational purpose, I think the book is trying to say that if you do drugs you always end up in prison or some other bad place.

They meet these 'mer' (mermaid)brother and sister who take them to 'Ingo' which is the sea, but in the book the sea is kind of a force, and it chooses who it lets in. The sea lets the humans in because they have mer in their blood. Whats a huge conflict throughout the whole story is that the dad suddenly dissapears when he went out on his boat the Peggy Gordon, on a perfectly calm night, and he knew the area better than anybody else. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and fantasy books.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading right now is called Mandy. I think other people should read this book too!=)
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called Holes.
ReplyDelete"The reason is because we are in a desert and we are the only source of water until the next 100 miles.
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading right now is called The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss and a boy named Peeta. They are sent as tributes to the capitol to compete in the hunger games. This story takes place somewhere in the future. If you want to find out how it ends, read The Hunger Games!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your point of view.
DeleteI agree with Alice because The Hunger Games is a really good book and it's intresting.
DeleteI think this book can be recommended to people who likes adventure, maybe violence, and suspense.

ReplyDeleteCurrently I am reading Mocking-jay.
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading right now is "It's Not Easy Being Mean" from "The Clique" series. This is book 7 out of a 14 book series.

ReplyDeleteThe book I just finished is Mad Dogs by Robert Muchmore.
ReplyDeleteWhile all of that was happening Lauren Adams was trying to undercover a group behind a lot of human trafficking into Great Britten.

ReplyDeleteThe book I just finished was The Time Paradox, number six in the Artemis Fowl series.
ReplyDeleteThe Series:
-Artemis Fowl
-The Artic Incident
-The Eternity Code
-The Opal Deception
-The Lost Colony
-The Time Paradox
-The Atlantis Complex (I need to read it!)

There are twelve districts and in each district 1 girl and 1 boy are chosen to be in the games. 24 go in and only 1 comes out.

Alex is doing very well until he finds the satellite that that is going to cause all the deaths. He calls M16 for help and they send in the SAS unit (yes SAS) and a miniature war starts. Alex climbs onto the weather balloon that is carrying the satellite and dismantles it while battling a Scorpia agent named Nile. Now in Scorpia Rising the organization finds and kills one of the most wanted criminals in the world and plant him with a fake encoded message. Meanwhile Alex has just returned home from his last mission and in the middle of a Math test in school a sniper attempts to kill him but misses barely and injures his best friend Tom. Alex then chases the car that the sniper has made his getaway in on his bike. Alex follows him until the sniper disappears into a building. When he reaches the top the Sniper is boarding a helicopter. Alex grabs a fire extinguisher and knocks the tail blade off and knocks off the tail propeller and then the helicopter crashes into the river. Throughout the novel Cal goes on missions to stop the capture Peeps and tries to find a cure for the disease. I will also tell you that the novel has an ending you would never expect. I would recommend this novel to people who enjoy science fiction as well as mystery. If you enjoyed this book you should try the next book in the series or his other series Uglies.
ReplyDeleteThe book that i just finished reading is called Wart, by Anna Myers. It is about a young boy who's mother died. When his father finds another woman he likes, Stewart and his little sister Georgia beg him not to marry her. After his dad decides that they weren't right for each other he meets one of Stewart's teacher he falls in love. Stewart hates this woman even more and he and his friends think that she is a witch. Even Mrs.Gibbs, the teacher, has a son and he is really creepy. He is a science lover and also agrees that his own mother is a witch. With Mrs.Gibbs magical powers as Stewart believes instantly made him a great basketball player, a popular guy in school and makes the girl he likes fall in love with him. Stewart and his friends agree to go with him to steal Mrs.Gibbs necklace what they believe is the source of her power. Will Stewart and his friends find Mrs.Gibbs secret? Read the book to find out! I would highly recommend this book because it is funny!
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading right know is called "Vacations from Hell."I like this book a lot because when you think that person is the one the author turns it around and makes a person you didn't aspect to be the bad guy or girl. Like when these two girls are on a cruise it and there's been some people that have disappeared and there bodies were found in the ocean with all there blood sucked out of them. So they think that there might be some vampires on the ship, but really there the vampires that are feasting on the people on the cruise ship. That's why I recommend this book!
ReplyDeleteThe book I was reading is called Home For the Holidays by Heather Vogel Fredrick. This book is the fifth book in the series. In this book the girls of the MDBC are anything but home for the holidays. Even though some have fabulous vacations others have terrible incidents. Nothing is going quite right for the girls. Will they find some Holiday Cheer? Find out if you read this book. I would recommend this book for girls everywhere. However I would also recommend reading the other books in the series first. The reason why I love this series so much is because you can relate to all the girls because their lives are so much like ours. I hope you read this book and the others in the series.

P.S. The next one is coming out this fall.
I am reading Revenge of the Wannabes by Lisi harrison. This book is about five "friends" named Massie, Clair, Kristen, Dylan, and Alicia. They are the popular girls at OCD,an exclusive all girls school, but the girls are fighting! Will the Clique ever be the way it used to? I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars because it keeps you on the edge of your seat and you have no idea what is coming next. I would recomend this book to other six graders because you never know what is coming next. This is book 3 of The Clique series and there are many more books after this. I hope this helped!

ReplyDeleteThe book that I am reading now is called Magyk. It's about a girl, called Jenna, who is found in the snow by a wizard, whose son disappears. Jenna, is raised by her foster parents. She is raised until the wizard leader, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard, is mysteriously murdered, and then a new ExtraOrdinary Wizard is appointed. The new ExtraOrdinary Wizard is called Marcia. She realizes that Jenna, who is actually the Princess, is threatened, and whisks Jenna away to live with her in the Wizard tower, a safe stronghold of wizards who live, rebelling against the evil Custodians, who aim to stop all Magyk. The fate of this world is in the hands of Jenna. This is the first book of the Septimus Series, and I would give it a five out of five, because there is so much suspense.

DeleteI finished reading the book Maximum Security from the Cherub series. It is really exciting and I could never put it down. (But I did eventually.) The author of this awesome series is Robert Muchamore. They are good books for people that love action. In Maximum Security, Cherub agents have to go into a prison, and break this kid out so they can find out where his mom is. They want to find his mom because she steals weapons from the army, and sells them to terrorists. I <3 the Cherub series!

ReplyDeleteThe Book I'm reading is Brigands M.C. by Robert Muchamore and its part of the CHERUB series and if you don't know hat that is its a British Intelligence Service that uses kids from 10-17 as they're operatives. I'm only in the beginning but so far a kid watched his parents die and now his house is rigged with a bomb. How very wonderful? Haha, but seriously i very highly reccomend this series as it is very similar to the Alex Rider series which is basically cherub but only one guy and a lot less drama.
ReplyDeleteI have just finished a book called "Crocodile Tears" by Anthony Horowitz. This is the 8th Book in the Alex Rider series. He is then sent by MI6 to spy on the host of the same party. He is caught and smuggled into Kenya and he now has 72 hours to save Africa.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading right now is SENT, by: Margaret Peterson. This book is about teenagers who stay in an old orphanage, Alex, Katherine, Chip, JB and Jonah. They all got sent back to the fifteenth century and they are living there. Unfortunately, the time was 1583and there was a lot of warfare and they woke up in the middle of the battlefield. They got sent to the royal castle of England and they got into jail. They escaped and dressed up as guards. They got out and teleported back to 1985, the year they were originally in. Then, they all got adopted by a family.

I am reading Ingo by Helen Dunmore. It is about an Irish brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteI have just recently finished Gregor The Overlander by Suzanne Collins. This series is about a 12 year old boy (Gregor) and his 2 year old sister (Boots) when they both fall in an air vent that leads to the Underland. In the Underland humans ride on bats, cockroaches are as big as beds, and rats stand 6 feet tall. In the Underland Gregor sets out on a quest to find his father that disappeared 2 years ago when he was captured by the rats. The great prophecy of Sandwich tells that Gregor must bring back his father before they both die with a team of crawlers, humans, spinners, and rats. I cant give away too much but heres the series.
